Day 3
So, with the pictures that I post . . . I am wondering if I should post the embroidery work with the kids modeling or just the items themselves. On my facebook page I had a request to see the kids wearing what I had sewn for them. Up to this point I have just downloaded pictures of the items, no beautiful baby faces. Since nobdy else is reading the blog at this point but me I guess that I will have to decide.
Went to the driving range yesterday afternoon. ARGH!!!:( I think I am getting progeressively worse with each lesson I take. That is seriously depressing. Tomorrow I have another lesson at 1 pm. If things don't start improving pretty soon I may just have to give up the game of golf. It used to be that I hit a mean 7 iron, can't even to that anymore. Everything is all messed up. And, what is up with me and my driver? That club drives me crazy. The head on that club is HUGE. I'm not small but that thing totally intimidates me.
I will say that I am learning how to get out of the bunker and that seems to be going okay. Before that lesson I had absolutely no clue what I was doing in the sand. At least now I know what I should be doing if only my club would respond.
Starting a new eating plan. Dr. Joel Fuhrman's Eat for Health. My husband's doctor recommended to him so that he could lose the weight he hasn't been able to drop. It's easier if we are both eating the same thing and I am definitely into eating healthy foods and food that is good for your body. I think we will give it a go for a few weeks and see what happens. It is extremely difficult for my husband to stick with an eating plan of any kind. He likes to eat what he wants when he wants . . . thus the need for the diet :)
This morning we had a smoothie. It was decent. Recipe follows directly from Dr. Fuhrman's book. He gets all the credit. All I did was to whir everything up in the blender.
Creamy Fruit and Berry Smoothie - Serves 2
Ingredients
1 C pomegranate juice (I used blueberry pomegranate)
1/2 C soy or almond milk (I used almond milk)
1/2 C frozen strawberries
1/2 C frozen blueberries
1/2 C frozen peaches (I added another 1/2 C strawberries instead)
1 banana (I used a frozen one)
1 TBSP ground flax seeds
Directions
Blend all ingredients together in a high powered blender.
Drink and enjoy (I added that :))

Day 2
So, I am new to blogging. How does anyone find me here? Do I patiently wait to see if anyone stumbles across this blog and starts to follow me?
I appliqued a most adorable Santa T shirt for one of my grandsons last night. I used an applique which I had purchased at Planetapplique.com and put it on an inexpensive Target long sleeved T. Came out really cute. The picture just popped into the wrong place on the page, but at least you can see it. I had done the same thing the night before on a red T for my grand nephew and when I went to rinse off the placement lines the red T dye bled all into Santa's white beard. So sad. Had to place that shirt in the trash can :( Valuable lesson learned about red dye on inexpensive T-shirts.
Here's my mistake T :(

I have gone to my local fabric shop and purchased "fat squares" for quilters to use as the fabric I insert into the appliques. I have started doing applique work about 2 months ago and LOVE it! I started doing machine embroidery last January after I received a sewing machine for Christmas. Love the embroidery too. Guess there is some truth in the old adage that you can teach an old girl some new tricks :)

Hello
So, what actually is the purpose of my blog? Am I so self-absorbed that I think people will be interested in reading my daily thoughts or am I reaching out for help and advice or am I just wanting to share and interact with random strangers and friends?
I am a quilter, knitter, sewer, embroiderer among other things and that is primarily what the blog will be about with some life thrown in. I also LOVE cooking and eating healthy foods so there may be an occational sharing of recipes. I'm trying to learn how to play golf so there is that added frustration.
I have two part time jobs (really just one because I don't consider babysitting two of my precious grandbabies each morning as a job but more as sheer pleasure). So, my crafty time is limited and treasured.
Think I'll post a few pictures of some of my recent embroidery projects (not posting any of my golf scores until I can shoot under 120 - argh!)
